Linda Joyce Caldwell (Anson), 67 , passed away shortly after dusk on Friday, September 26, 2014 at the Bayview Center in Eustis. Born in Rockledge, FL to Mr. and Mrs. James Franklin Caldwell in 1946. Linda was a member of the First Baptist Church, Cocoa and a graduate of Cocoa HS in 1964, where she was president of Future Homemakers of America.
She attended Brevard Junior College in 1964-65 and was elected to Phi Theta Kappa scholastic fraternity. Linda attended Florida State University in 1965-66. In May 1966, she married high school sweetheart, Joe Anson at the First Baptist Church, Cocoa. A longtime resident of Altamonte Springs, Linda spent the past 35 years of her life in Central Florida, where she was a homemaker, devoted mother, and the kindest of neighbors.
In 1987 , she completed her bachelor's degree at the University of Central Florida, followed by a Master's degree from Rollins College in 1996. Her studies led her to publishing a master's thesis on the endocrinology of the Florida Panther, one of her proudest accomplishments.
Linda served as a Legal Assistant and Paralegal at several Orlando law firms, Merrill Lynch as a Regional Trust Assistant, and lastly, as a substitute teacher in Orange County.
She is survived by sons, Andrew Michael Anson and Daniel Paul Anson; grandsons, Andrew Caldwell Anson, Luke Samuel Anson, Camden James Anson, and Christian Isaac Anson; sister, Carolyn Carpenter; niece Jennifer Joyce Carpenter; and nephew, Brett Allen Carpenter.
Memorial services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 1st at Wylie-Baxley Funeral Home, 1360 N. Courtenay Parkway, Merritt Island, FL.
