Lawrence Ralph Emerson, age 92, died January 24, 2021. Lawrence, or Babe, as his friends called him, worked as a contractor for Bethlehem Steel Corporation for more than 20 years. He was born in Richmond, Virginia where he was a high school football star. He met Anne Pace and was married. Eventually, he relocated to Plantation, Florida, to raise his daughter Suzanne and his sons Terrell and Jeff. Babe was a kind and religious man who was involved in his Lutheran churches throughout his life. He enjoyed football and college basketball and was a big fan of the Miami Dolphins and the Florida Gators.
Lawrence is survived by his son Jeff, with whom he lived his last years, who resides in Merritt Island. He is also survived by his daughter Suzanne, who lives in Walterboro, SC.
A Memorial Service will be held at Christ Lutheran Church in Cape Canaveral on Monday, February 1st at 10 am. In lieu of flowers, please send any donations to Christ Lutheran Church - Food Bank, 7511 N Atlantic Avenue, Cape Canaveral, FL 32920.
