Jean R. Dukesherer

Merritt Island, Florida.

Jean R. Dukesherer, 81, passed peacefully on July 14, 2011 to join her husband,

Raymond V. (Duke) Dukesherer.

She is survived by her son, David H. Dukesherer (Sue) of Oklahoma City, OK; daughters Diane J. West of Merritt Island, FL; Debra D. Molbech (Peter) of Casselberry, Florida; and son Daniel R. Dukesherer of St. Louis, MO. She had seven grandchildren of whom she was very proud: Jennifer L. West of Hesperia, CA; Gary D. Dukesherer (Tabitha) of Oklahoma City, OK; Kristina K. Ternyak (Roger) of Lochbuie, CO; Jeffrey Ryan Jones of Atlanta, GA; Rebecca J. Sitton of Oklahoma City, OK; Kelly “Katie” Jones of Lakeland, FL; and Noah H. Dukesherer of St. Louis, MO. She also had 3 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister, Marian Grumbir of Longview, TX and many nieces, nephews and other extended family.

Jean enjoyed being a Navy wife and she and Duke traveled the entire world during their 52 years of marriage. After her husband retired, she embarked on a new path of pre-school volunteer and eventually teacher at Faith Lutheran Preschool. She worked there for many years then retired so she and Duke could travel at whim. Jean also enjoyed reading, history, and music…especially Frank Sinatra.

Calling hours are 9-10AM followed by funeral services beginning at 10AM on Monday July 18, 2011 at Faith Lutheran Church 280 E. Merritt Ave. Merritt Island, Florida 32953. Interment will be at Florida Memorial Gardens.

In her memory, donations may be made to Faith Lutheran Pre-School or The Merritt Island Public Library.
