Frederick W Richards

Born in Perth Amboy, he resided there before moving to Merritt Island 37 years ago.

Mr. Richards was a 1953 graduate of Perth Amboy High School, a 1957 graduate of Lafayette College and received a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from Yale University School of Law in 1960. He practiced law in Perth Amboy and Metuchen from 1960 until 1980; and then in Cocoa Beach, FL until his retirement in 1997. He also served in the United States Air Force as a JAG Officer and was president of the Perth Amboy City Council from 1972 until 1976.

He belonged to Glory of God Anglican Church in Cocoa, FL and was a former member of Holy Cross Episcopal Church in Perth Amboy.

He is predeceased by his parents, Bert and Esther Mathiasen Richards; and a sister, Judith Ann Richards.

Funeral services will be on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Costello-Koyen Funeral Home (costello-koyen.com), 399 Avenel Street, Avenel. Interment will follow in Alpine Cemetery, Perth Amboy. Visitation will be on Tuesday morning beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
