Annie “Cleo” Schall of Broadway, North Carolina passed away on June 12, 2024 in Mims, Florida. She was born March 8, 1937 in LaGrange, Georgia to Rufus and Inez Crowel Head. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sisters Ruby Lee Ledford and Carrie Daniel; brothers, James “Buck” Head and Henry Head. She leaves behind her husband John; her children Barbara, Ricky, Ronald, Troy and Nick; 9 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. She married John Schall on October 4 in 1959. Cleo was a career military spouse and worked as a waitress in the NCO Club at Pope AFB, North Carolina. Prior to that she worked at a country club in Fairbanks, Alaska.
Cleo was known to her grandchildren as Mimi. Her grandchildren loved spending the night with her. They would play cards and dominos and watch wheel of fortune and jeopardy until bedtime. In the morning, they would wake to the delicious smell of her blueberry pancakes. Cleo and John loved shopping off QVC and would always give the best Christmas stockings. They would also host annual ‘pig pickins’ for many years. Cleo will be greatly missed and will be known for her loving household and generosity she showed throughout the years.
