Hello Mother.  Today, you (we) would have been celebrating your 80th birthday 🎂 🎂 🎂 🎂 🎂 🎂 🎂 🎂. It is  just over 2 years since you left us.  Most days, I wake up thinking it has been an eternity since our last hug, our last I love you or our last phone conversation.  It has only been 2 years but the  pain of your loss is still fresh, and even today, it brings tears to my eyes when I think about how very much I miss and love you.  I take solace in knowing you are no longer in pain, no more suffering, and at peace.

We know you’re watching over Christina especially today her 19th birthday.  Wow how quickly the years have passed.  I remember every single birthday when you were there for your granddaughter.  The day she was born was one of the most happiest days of your life I’m sure 💛

You can rest in peace now. This past weekend we finally spread yours and dads ashes. Dave found a really nice spot high up the mountain to do it. We felt relieved and happy that it was done. It was a nice day to get together. We miss you so much.

It is hard to believe that it has been one year since you left us, yet I remember that dreaded phone call like it was yesterday.  We were at Cultus having dinner with Marla when I took the call - I'll never forget those words " I'm so sorry, your mom has passed away".  I was in no way expecting that.  There is never a day goes by that you are not in my thoughts. So many times I want to call you to talk, to share, to hear your voice.  So many things have happened in the past year that I so wish I could talk to you about. It seems like an eternity since we last spoke.  All of the  sad milestones that we have gone through without you. Mothers day, your birthday, our birthdays, Christmas.  All very tough for us without you there to share in the celebration. Tomorrow will be one year since you left us. It is hard to believe but it seems like just yesterday we talked on the phone. Lately i find myself getting ready to call you to see how you are doing. Then it hits me you are gone and i feel confused . This year has not been easy for us it has been hell. I am glad that you agreed to come live with us. You were able to enjoy life and good food not like at Nicola Meadows. I am glad that we were able to get closer. We really enjoyed your company and teaching me how to cook better. I miss our conversations we had on the way and back from dialysis . We will be spreading your ashes soon with dads ashes . As per your wishes. We kinda blanked out mothers day it was tuff being the first one with out you. But we still were thinking of you. Was listening to you tube the other night and they played your song  OUR VOICES. Happy Mothers Day Mom.  Today marks one year since Doris and I last saw you.  It is a sad/difficult day for me. It has been an extremely tough week this week - Cousin Ron passed away (52) and this being mothers day,  and the one year mark of your passing fast approaching.  I am so longing to hug you, to talk to you, to tell you how much I love you.  Just know Mother how loved you were/are by so many and how missed you are by all of those whose lives you touched, and there were a lot.  Your memories will forever live on in my heart.

Hello Mom.  Although it has been a while since I last wrote on your site,  there is not  a day that goes by that I do not think about you, miss you and wish that I could spend one more minute with you.  I reached 2 milestones recently  (My 60th birthday in March and my  retirement) and you were not here to share/celebrate them with me.  I MISS YOU SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO  MUCH MOM.  I am really struggling right now,  with Mothers day just a few days away.  Mothers day was the last time that Doris and I saw you.  We wheeled you down to the Denny's,  down the road from the home you were temporarily staying, and had lunch.  The three of us  had the Country Fried steak (chicken with sauce)  We all commented on how good it was, Yum.  It was a  good day, so at least I have that as my last memory, yet at the same time,  it breaks my heart that that was my last memory.  In some ways it seems a life time ago that we last saw you, yet it still has not even been a year (which in it self is a long time).
Know that you are loved, missed, and will never be forgotten but remembered with fond and loving memory.

I am so blessed I got to spend Christmases with you when I could.  I fondly remember spending Christmas with you Dave Doris Gary and Christina in Chilliwack.  That was the year you got the best gift (besides the day she was born).  A blanket with Christina’s photo from when she was a newborn.  The look on your face was priceless.  That was one of my favourite Christmases with you. 

 I can’t believe it’s been six months already since we found out that you were gone.  Miss you every day Cheryl.  I know that you’re watching over us.

Merry Christmas Mom.  Today, December 25, marks 6 months since you left us.  This month,  especially today, has been very hard.  this, being the first Christmas without you and knowing how much you loved Christmas has been a struggle.  So many things that make me think about you- putting my lights up outside, decorating our tree and watching Christmas shows, one of your favorite things to do.  We were not been able to celebrate Christmas together for a few years,  because of weather conditions affecting the roads and safe travel, but we could always do facetime or talk on the phone-not this year.  It makes me so sad Mom, not being able to see you, to talk to you, to share things with you- good and bad.  I miss you sooooooooo much.

Hi Cheryl.  On Sunday we celebrated YOU.  It was a beautiful day where family and friends gathered together.  It is still so surreal and hard to believe you are gone.  We know you are with your other family now but miss you still.  

I loved hearing a funny story about you and pina coladas on a trip with Rusty.  Oh my gosh made me laugh! Definitely priceless!! 

If I had spoken at the shop on Sunday, I would have been there for quite awhile as I could say many wonderful things about you.  Kind, loving, caring, funny and many more.  I enjoyed our trip with Gary, Rusty, you and myself to Quesnel and Barkerville.  That was a few years before Christina was born.  Thinking of you always.  Love Callie 💜🌻 

Hi Cheryl.  I’ve been thinking about you quite often lately.  I carry you in my heart wherever I go, and remember the love you had for your family and friends.  It’s two weeks until the puck drops on the Cents’ 50th hockey season.  You will be with us cheering them on like we have for the past many years before you left.  I sit with Betty and Donna quite a bit while Christina takes photos.  She’s improved a lot since last season and we are looking forward what this next year brings in our lives. It has been just over 4 weeks since you left us Mom and I still cannot believe that you are gone.  There is not a day that goes by where I do not think to pick-up the phone and call you (at least half a dozen times a day) and realize, oh, I can't,  0r, where I come home hoping  to see  the answering machine flashing with a message from "Moms cell.  We just celebrated Gary's first birthday without you.   It was very hard without you being there and even more difficult,  was the realization that you will never again be at any of our special occasions - Birthdays, Christmas, or Thanksgiving.  We are all struggling  with losing you and the finality of never seeing you again Mom.  You were a very kind and loving soul that touched the lives of many.  I have many fond memories of you that I will forever cherish, and draw strength from.  Thank you for the values that you instilled in me.  Most of all,  thank you for raising us the best that you could, especially during the tough times, of which there were many.  I love you lots and lots.  I MISS YOU MOM.

 It’s almost been one month since you were taken from us.  Death leaves a heartache that no one can heal.  
I can’t sleep so thought I would say what I’m feeling.

Happy belated birthday MOM. We had good plans going to the casino and out for Chinese. It does not seem real that 
you are gone. We never got to say good bye before you were taken from us so soon. We thought you would live forever because you were so tuff. Now you are not suffering anymore. Every time my phone rings i think it is you calling for our daily chat. I want to call you all the time when something happens ,then realize you are gone. It is tuff on us right now but we enjoyed having you live with us for the past four years. You kept saying you hated being a burden on us but you were not. I would do it over again and wish i could have done more for you. Thank you for teaching me to cook all that good food . Will think of you when i make them again. Wish we had more time together it seemed to short and i will miss our talks on the way and back from dialysis. But will not miss the winter driving . Belated birthday greetings my long time best friend.  I remember how we laughed when we gave each other American money for the next trip we had planned.  We had so many trips together but the one I think you enjoyed the most was the Alaskan Cruise.....you even talked me into going to a Salmon Bake.....your favourite.  We had many adventures together and they are precious memories for me now.  You were the perfect travel friend....even when you had too many Pina Coladas!!!! We never got rich but had so much fun together and no one can put a price tag on that.  I am sad you are gone from this earth but happy that you don't have any health issues now.  Your cooking talents will always be with me as I have learned so much from you.  Your kindness and generosity to all you came in contact with is your legacy.  You didn't even know how many people loved and cared about you.  If you find a casino up there let me know when you win the big one.  There aren't enough words to express how much I will miss you......RIP my friend. I LOVE YOU.

Happy 78th birthday today. So sorry we didn’t get to celebrate with you, as we had planned.  I am remembering how you were always making birthday cakes for everyone and how very thoughtful you were.  It is so difficult knowing that we can never see you again or get a hug from you ever again.  
You never wanted much…..only to see your family and spend precious moments together.  Now all we have are the many memories we all created and that was your last and everlasting gift.

Hi Cheryl.  Today is your (first) heavenly 78th birthday.  The first birthday without you but I know that you are celebrating with your loved ones up above.  

I miss you a lot.  Words cannot express how much you meant to me.  Your hugs and love I will carry always  with me wherever I go.  

I remember at camp Champ one year you got to learn how to ride a quad.  We couldn’t get you off of it you were having so much fun.  I have many wonderful memories of you since we met.  You are missed, but each day gets a bit easier.  

Dave mentioned your cooking.  OMG your potato salad was amazing.  All of the food you made was so delicious.  Christina takes after you in her cooking and baking. 

You were the proudest grandma and it showed in all of the pictures of you two together.  The day Christina was born was probably the happiest day of your life.  You were so excited when you found out you were going to be a gramma.

Hi Cheryl.  I can’t believe it’s been one week since you left this crazy world.  

I remember the first time I met you.  It was at a Cents game and Gary and I had been dating not that long.  We arrived at the game and sat next to you and Betty and Gary says to me “oh by the way this is my mom”.  I’ll always remember that, it’s such a great little funny and heartwarming story.  

I’m so happy I met you and I miss you very much but I know that you’re being taken care of.  

I will miss our phone calls, chatting about whatever came to mind and laughing about whatever it was that made us laugh.  I am blessed to have had you as a mom in law even after the fact.  You always treated me as family and I will never forget that.  

One of our visits with you and Christina I will never forget is when we first took you outside to the courtyard at Ponderosa in May.  
We sat outside and it was warm and you loved it, sitting outside visiting and taking in the sunshine.  It was a beautiful day.  

I’m grateful for your love and I’m happy I got to say my goodbyes to you but I cannot say enough about you.  You were a beautiful mom and mother in law, friend, sister, Aunty and more.  Our lives are richer for having you in them.

You were an amazing woman.  Every person who crossed paths with you was blessed with your kindness and your love of life, you brightened everyone's world.  You were giving and selfless.  I am so proud to be able to call you my  Mother.  Whenever I speak to people and tell them you were my mother they have a story to tell about you and what a beautiful, kind person you were.  
 
Family and cooking were your world.  The dinners that you made were out of this world, and plentiful.  Not just one pie for dessert on Thanksgiving but 2 maybe 3 different choices.  I remember growing up you would make a gourmet dinner out of  Kraft dinner and wieners.  You got so much satisfaction from cooking and feeding everyone.   

My world has forever changed.  No more visits, hugs or phone calls from my mom.  I can't count how many times,  since you have been gone, that I have come in the house expecting to see the red light on the answering machine blinking  with a message from you - but it is not there.....
 
Mom you will live forever in my heart and in my memories but what I wouldn't give for just one more hug,  just one more.  I hope you left this world knowing how much I loved you.  I loved you with all of my heart,  or as we used to say, ending our phone calls, I love you lots and lots.

I am just thinking how it’s been 43 years ago since we first met.  That’s when Dave and I first started dating and I remember thinking that you had to be one of the coolest moms around.
I felt so comfortable and accepted by you immediately and that really meant a lot to me then. That never changed over the years and when we all reconnected, it was like we just picked up where we left off.

Your kind, giving heart never hardened over the years and the love you had for your family and friends was always evident in everything you did.
You will be deeply missed by so many that had the honour of knowing you, but none as much as your family, that was always most important to you.
