Rosalinda Maria Hernandez

September 3, 1953 – November 10, 2010

Rosalinda was born in Pecos, Texas to Rita and Tiburcio Hernandez on September 3, 1953 and passed away November 10, 2010 at Mercy Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. She lived in Merced for 45 years.

Rosalinda cared for people and was very helpful to those in need. She worked as a housekeeper and caregiver. She enjoyed riding her bike, cooking for family gatherings and collecting Elvis Presley and Marilyn Monroe memorabilia.

She is preceded in death by her parents Rita and Tiburcio Hernandez and a brother Jesus (Jess) Hernandez.

She is survived by her husband, Elias Ortiz Hernandez; son, Michael Wilkins; brothers, Max Hernandez of Merced, Abel Hernandez of Atwater, Nick Hernandez and Francisco Hernandez both of Merced and Estevan Hernandez of Planada; sisters, Maria Rodriguez, Ignacia Hernandez, and Belia Poulin all of Merced and Louisa Cornaglia of San Diego; granddaughter, Tiatina Cryaton of El Centro, CA.

Visitation will be held on Monday, November 15, 2010 from 3:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. with a recitation of the rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m. at Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, November 16, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Merced. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
