Jimmy Alvarez, 69, passed away on January 28, 2022 in Merced, California surrounded by his loved ones. Jimmy was born to Ruth and Jose Alvarez on July 12, 1952. Jimmy honorably served his country in the Untied States Army in the 101st Airborne Division and was proud of his veteran status. Later, he transitioned out of the military and became a security guard. He worked in this position for over 15 years.
Jimmy was a family man and greatly treasured every moment he was able to spend with those he loved. He enjoyed spending time with his wife who he valued greatly and invested many hours into his child and grandchildren as well. Additionally, Jimmy dearly loved his dog Kodah Bear. Jimmy's family will deeply miss having him around, but know that he will always be with them in their hearts.
Jimmy is survived by his wife, Annette Alvarez; sisters Irma Alvarez and Irene Ramirez; as well as his son, Eric Anthony Lerma (Carolyn Masana). He is also survived by his grandchildren: Mariah Lerma Dennison (Marcos F. Dennison), Anthony Salazar, Misty Lerma, Kylie Simpson, Colin Masana, and Carter Masana; as well as a multitude of other family and friends including

A visitation will be held for Jimmy on Saturday, February 19, 2022 from 12 A.M. to 2 P.M. at Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will follow the visitation at 2:00 P.M. in the Stratford Evans Funeral Home Chapel. Family and friends are invited to join the family for a reception following the services from 3:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. in the Stratford Evans Funeral Reception Hall.
