Mr. Bobby Lee “Ice Man” Harris, was born on July 28, 1955 to the late Roger Harris and Lee Masie Harris, in Los Angeles, Ca. The second of 13 siblings, Bobby attended Antelope Valley Elementary School and later attended Merced High School. Bobby excelled in his love for martial arts and attained a black belt degree. Known as an avid storyteller, Bobby created some of the greatest stories and told them with such strong conviction, that everyone believed he was where he was in the stories, and did what he said he did in them as well. Bobby loved to roller skate and had a classy way of dancing on and off the roller ring floors.
When Bobby wasn’t training in martial arts, dancing, or enjoying his favorite movies, he was always in the kitchen hooking up some of his favorite recipes, especially his mother’s shrimp salad. Bobby also had a love for riding motorcycles and was an active member of the United Ones Motorcycle club.
Bobby enjoyed life and he never forgot the importance of family. Bobby leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 16 years, Odeasta Harris of Merced, Ca., five children, Estella Harris, Tamika Harris, Shaunte Harris, and Tanisha Harris, of Bakersfield, Ca., and a son, Bobby Harris, Jr also of Bakersfield, Ca. 10 step children, Betty Harris-Gholson, Lashay Peters of Bakersfield, Ca., Cristal Davis, Jeremiah Jones, Allan Reed, Levi Evans, Willie Caldwell, and Allan Reed, all of Merced, Ca., Zachariah Caldwell of Atwater, Ca., and Kizzy Reed of Stockton, Ca. 12 brothers and sisters, Roger Harris Jr., Jesse Harris, and Earl Brewer, Jr., all of Merced, Ca., John Harris of of Chicago Ill, Darrele Harris of Paso Robles, Ca., and Jeremiah Harris of Lancaster, Ca. Sisters, Bobbie McGee, Lillie Tate, Beverly Brewer, all of Merced, Ca., Beverly Harris, Deborah Harris both of Fresno, Ca., and Frena Harris of San Bernardino, Ca. 18 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, and a host of family and friends.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 2, 2016 from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. at Apostolic Tabernacle, 2745 CA-140, Merced, Ca, with the funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m. Burial will immediately follow service at Merced District Cemetery.
