Rodolfo Alvarez Silvas

Rodolfo was a devoted family man and Catholic. In his later years he lived a quiet peaceful life, and attended Saint Martha's Catholic Church with my mother Socorro when they moved to Temecula in 1992. Prior to that they lived in Fallbrook, and before that in Los Angeles. He was born and raised in Tucson, Arizona.

Rodolfo worked for the State as a professional groundskeeper and landscaper for 20 years until he retired, and prior to that he worked for private nurseries and vocational schools that taught plant propagation and maintenance. He also worked for Los Angeles County for 15 years and graduated from Cal Poly Pomona in 1975 with a degree in Horticulture. He served in the United States Air Force from the mid-1950s to the early 1960s as an aircraft electrician, servicing such aircraft as the B-52 bomber.

Rodolfo was a man of discipline with a slight sense of humor. He was a man a faith and went to church regularly. He believed that one needed to follow the teachings of Christ through the Holy Gospel.

Rodolfo was a man who was always happy to teach people who wanted to learn things he knew about. Providing direction to the young was rewarding to him. He was known to many of the younger people as Big Rudy, and to his beloved nephews and nieces as Uncle Rudy.

In his leisure time, Rudolfo loved to watch the Los Angeles Rams on TV or at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum with his relatives and friends especially with his beloved grandson Caleb in his later years. . He was also an Arizona Wildcats fan and loved to watch the school’s football and basketball teams compete too.

Rodolfo loved to spend time with my mom and her family at get togethers at the home or at the park, events where there was a lot of laughter, happiness and good food to eat.

Devotion to the Lord, to his wife, family, and friends, were the things that kept my Rodolfo most happy in life. May he rest in peace with his wife and enjoy that happiness again in heaven.

A visitation for Rodolfo will be held Thursday, October 24, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Miller-Jones Menifee Memorial Park and Mortuary, 26770 Murrieta Rd., Menifee, CA 92585. A Rosary service will occur at 6 pm.

A funeral service will occur Friday, October 25, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St. Martha Catholic Church, 37200 Whitewood Rd, Murrieta, CA 92563.

A committal service will occur Friday, October 25, 2024 from 11:45 AM to 12:00 PM at Temecula Public Cemetery, 41911 C St, Temecula, CA 92592.
