Phyllis Jeane Jackson (Burcham) of Hemet, California passed away on Monday, November 27th, 2023 at the age of 73. She and her twin (Phillip Jackson) were born on January 19th, 1950 in Battle Creek, Michigan to Martin and Sara Jackson.
She was a well-known and award winning majorette for many years participating in parades, competitions, and football half-time shows. Phyllis graduated from Pennfield High School in1968. She then went off to college in Marquette, Michigan with best friend Vicky. Soon after she returned home to marry her high school sweetheart. Phyllis and Ronald McDaniel had three children.
She moved to California in 1977 with her three small children to begin her career as an Account Manager of Commercial/Retail Properties. She moved back to Michigan in 1984 to raise her three children with Ron. Phyllis was active in volunteering and supporting the First Congregational Church along with the McQuiston Junior Theater. She loved to cook, sew and read in her spare time.She also enjoyed spending time at the ocean. Above all she mostly enjoyed spending time with her kids, grandkids and loved ones.Phyllis was loved dearly by her family and will be deeply missed.
In 1997, she returned to San Diego, California with Alvin (Jay). They married on August 1st,1998.They enjoyed many picnics at the ocean, date nights exploring new foods at various restaurants with casino outings as well as going on cruises. Phyllis loved her two Scotties, first Mackenzie and then Logan who was named by her granddaughter, Ashley.
Phyllis is preceded in death by her father Martin J. Jackson, brother Gary L. Jackson and first born infant son.
She is survived by her mother,Sara J. Jackson.Her husband, Alvin J. Burcham of 25 years.Siblings, twin brother Phillip J. Jackson, Sue A. Johnson (Jackson), David M. Jackson. Children, Julie A. McDaniel (Michigan), Jon-Paul M. McDaniel & wife Charlotte (Cartersville, Georgia) and Tamara L. McDaniel (Menifee, California). Grandchildren, Jarrad C. McDaniel, Danielle & Alex Vega, Brian Case, John Case, Brandon Dickinson, and Ashley J. Meadows. Great-Grandchild Olivia. Step-Children Jeffrey & Julie Burcham (son Travis), Pamela Kay (children Tyler, Elizabeth, Keira, Ally, and Ryan). Nieces and Nephews: Kimberly, Garrett, Debbie, Jason, Corey, Nicole, David and Steven. And a number of cousins, great nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to attend a service Tuesday, December 26th, 2023 from 1:00PM
to 1:30 PM at Riverside National Cemetery, 22495 Van Buren Blvd, Riverside, CA 92518.
