Michael Lee Halstead

FEBRUARY 7, 1948 - OCTOBER 26, 2024

Mike was born to Virgil and Alo-Jean Collins Halstead on February 7, 1948, in Port Hueneme, California. Mike was one of five children. His siblings included, Larry, Billie, Barbara, and Jonnie.

During his lifetime Mike was a welder, logger, mechanic and truck driver. He excelled in every occupation he undertook. Mike had a strong work ethic. He set an excellent example for all his children. Mike had a mechanical talent and there was not anything he could not fix.

Mike led life to the fullest extent, with a unique sense of style, quick wit and a contagious sense of humor. He was a confident man and a force to be reconned with.

He married at an early age to Mary Blake, and they had two daughters, Yvonne and Melissa. Mike was widowed at a youthful age and was left with two young children to raise.

Later he met and married Pam Sutton and they had one son, Robert. Their marriage ended soon thereafter, but the bonds with the children have remained throughout their lives.

The logging industry shut down in Northern California and Mike decided to work in the construction field leaving the state of California. Mike traveled to Arizona with his employer where he met and married Jane, who had two daughters, Monica and Melody. The family moved to California in the late 90s and remained there until his passing. Jane and Mike have been married for thirty years.

Mike loved golfing, fishing, camping, woodworking, his guitar, and his favorite dog, Mollie. He had been ill the last few years and fought a courageous battle, fighting to remain with his loved ones, but the Lord called him home on October 26, 2024.

Mike is preceded in death by his father, mother, grandparents, uncle, aunt, sister, Barbara, and favorite dog, Mollie.

He is survived by his wife, Jane, brother, Larry (Gloria), sisters, Billie and Jonnie (Pat), daughters, Yvonne (Marty) and Melissa, son, Robert (Briana) step daughters, Melody (Jamie) and Monica, grandchildren, Cassidy, Isaiah, Kenny, Korinna, Boston, Owen, Skylar and Jake.

Mike will be forever missed by his family and friends, but the loved ones he leaves behind will always remember him for his quick wit, sense of humor, and a life well lived.

A Celebration of Life will be held on November 15, 2024, at 1:00 p.m., at Miller-Jones Menifee Memorial Park & Mortuary, 26770 Murrieta Road, Menifee, California, followed by a reception from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
