These skills would come in handy later in life, when she assisted her daughter in opening their own restaurant Veronica’s place. Something she was very proud of.
Ruby was blessed with three children before leaving the state of Missouri. Ruby worked odd and end jobs in Kansas City until she moved her family to California due to her mothers health conditions. Shortly after her arrival to California, Ruby met and married John Bowman Sr. They resided in Compton California for a time. Ruby was blessed with two additional children. She also began working for Pacific Bell. Ruby experienced a life changing event around this time. She excepted Jesus Christ as her Savior and made a choice to live for Christ the rest of her days. Not only did she live for Him, She went on to spread His gospel. She attended college to become a bible evangelist and received her AA. All while working for the County of Orange as a Clerk in the Health Laboratory.
Around seventy eight, the family moved and purchased a home in Cerritos Ca. Her younger children attended school and grew up there. Once they were raised and had families of their own, Ruby began a new chapter in her life. She became a foster mother. She opened her home to many children. She was able to guide and direct them in the ways of Christ. She moved to Moreno Valley CA. and became a Teachers Aid. She moved to assist her daughter and family. This was after her retirement from Orange County. Ruby even opened a Daycare to help single women in her community. She was very active and outgoing in her community and the ministry of Christ.
After many years of working she decided to fully retire and begun traveling. She went all over the world. From a bible crusade in China, too evangelizing in Swaziland on the continent of Africa. She walked along the prayer wall in Israeli and toured the Mediterranean Sea. She had a full and adventurous life.
Upon finally settling down, she along with her daughter and sister purchased a home in Menifee Ca. Where she assisted with caring for her great grand children until illness struck. Through it all she remained faithful to Christ. She was very blessed and RICH in family. She was able to rest her eyes upon and hold her Great Great grandson.
