Teresa Francis Wright

Born March 11, 1928 in Des Moines, IA to Josephine and Charles Riordan. Her sister Rosalie Dunham survives her and she is predeceased by her brother Robert Riordan, her sister Margaret Downy and Mary Stultz. She passed on to her richly deserved afterlife on January 4th, 2020 after spending 92 wonderful years with her family and friends. She married Jim Wright on May 5, 1951. She bore 6 sons over the next 8 years. She is predeceased by one of her sons, Christopher, and her husband James. She is survived by 5 of her six sons, Joseph, Lawrence, Thomas, Robert and Steven, her 21 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. Her life was made even more eventful with leadership roles in the Christian Family Movement, League of Women Voters, Civil Rights Movement, and her career as an Ombudsman. She was active in the Catholic Church and a member of Church of the Holy Spirit in Memphis, TN. Her twilight years she was focused on a prayer group…The Servants of the Upper Room. Services will be held on Saturday, January 9th. Rosary will start at 9AM with the funeral Mass beginning at 10AM. Burial at Calvary Cemetery will follow where she will be laid to rest next to her husband of 65 years and her son.
