Her family will receive friends on Saturday, September 9, 2023 from 12:30 pm until funeral services begin at 2:30 pm at Memphis Funeral Home located at 5599 Poplar Avenue, Memphis, Tennessee 38119.
Mrs. Brents retired from a long career at South Central Bell & Bell South Telephone Company having many positions from telephone operator up to Quality Control Auditor and Supervisor. Mrs. Brents also worked at Bellevue Baptist Church as an administrative assistant. She was a long time member of Bellevue Baptist Church, and a current member of Bethany Christian Church in Eads, TN.
Mrs. Brents was a true outdoors woman who loved fishing with her family and friends, camping, gardening and tending to her flowers, church mission trips, and loved preparing wonderful meals for family and friends. Service was her given spiritual quality. She was lovingly known to her family and close friends as Susu.
Mrs. Brents was preceded into Heaven by her husband of 62 years M.F. (Bill) Brents, and her daughter Beverly Jo Brents Rowlett of Braden, TN.
She is survived by her children Susan Gail Brents of North Carolina, and Keith Gordon Brents of Fisherville, TN; sisters Sally Gilliam of Warner Robbins, GA and Judy Gordon Smith (Johnny) of Killen, AL, brother Tommy Gordon of Calhoun City, MS; grandchildren April Crump Baker (Jason) of Benton, AR, Kimberly Crump Blair (Justin) of Austin, TX, Kaitlin Olivia Brents of Dawsonville, GA, and William Hunter Brents (Savannah) of Lakeland, TN; great-grandchildren Aiden William Baker and Ava Leigh Baker of Benton, AR, Owen William Blair, Jacob Russell Blair, Carter James Blair, and Joshua Ryan Blair of Austin, TX, William “Liam” Cooper Wells of Dawsonville, GA, and William “Jamie” James Brents of Lakeland, TN.
