Rick was born July 4, 1945. He graduated from White Station High School and received his Bachelor of Business Administration from Memphis State University. While in college, he met and married Frankie Louise Daugherty at Grimes Methodist Church.
Rick was a devoted husband, dad, and Pops. He loved being with his family and friends - whether that be on the lake, stopping by for a visit, or laughing and sharing stories. He was always willing to help someone in need, pass along his knowledge of fixing something, and just be there to lend an ear and a shoulder. Over the years, he was involved in various mission and service projects with the church and especially with his children. He used his knowledge and love of his first job, climbing telephone poles and installing phone lines to help several ministries in the area with their phone systems.
For 50 plus years, Rick was the owner and president of Middlesouth Financial Group, Inc. He served as a CLU, CFP in Memphis and the surrounding areas.
Rick was preceded in death by his parents Richard P. Cook, and Josephine Womble Cook of Memphis.
Rick is survived by his wife of 58 years, Frankie D. Cook, a son, Rich Cook (Sabrina) of Memphis, a daughter, Rachel Wise (Tim) of Memphis, Cheryl Cook of Nashville, and four grandchildren Luke, Anna, and Allison Wise and Hannah Tyner (Ryan).
