Since 1965, Becky & her late husband Jerry owned Brasfield Auto Service in Memphis. The shop started on 3rd street and became a cornerstone of the community at the corner of Ridgeway & Quince for almost 40 years. In 2011 the shop moved across the parking lot until it shut its doors in October 2017. Becky also chose a career as a crossing guard for over 24 years and retired from the Shelby County Sheriff’s Department.
Becky loved spending time with her family as well as watching the Memphis Tigers play, but her passion was going to the drag races with her son, which brought them lifelong memories and friends.
She is survived by her son, Kevin Dean Brasfield of St Martin, MS; grandson, Bobby Hugh Brasfield (Tehya Tripp Brasfield) of Rossville, TN; daughters-in-law, Patricia Harbin Hewlett of Rossville, TN; Angela Merryman Brasfield of Germantown, TN; and her brothers & sister, Dale Potter, Gale Potter Cone, Terry Potter, Jerry Potter.
Along with her husband Becky was also preceded in death by her parents Alpha Jewel Maxey Potter & Ben Franklin Potter.
