Phil Warren, of Memphis, TN was born in Victoria, MS on Jan. 18, 1925 to Henry Washington Warren and Mary Alice Wiseman Warren. He was a U.S. Army Veteran in WWII who served in both Normandy and The Battle of The Bulge. He worked for Firestone Tire and Rubber Co. in Shipping and Manufacturing for more than 37 years, and was a faithful member of the Cherokee Baptist Church. Mr. Warren passed away on January 3, 2015 at the age of 89. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Sunday, January 4, 2015 from 4pm to 7pm at Memphis Funeral Home, 5599 Poplar Ave. Funeral Services will begin on Monday, Jan. 5 at 10 am in the Memphis Funeral Home North Chapel, with burial to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Warren is preceded in death by his parents; his wives, Mary Alice Hewitt Warren and Pinkie L. Briscoe Warren; Brothers and Sisters, Evelyn Norfleet, Henry Lee Warren, Sue Phillips, Lucy Billingsley, John Warren, James Warren and Ramona Cole; and also by a grandchild, Joshua Ray Warren. He is survived by his children, Ron Warren (Janice), John D. Warren (Mona), Alan Ray Warren (Brenda), Pamela Gentry (Riley), and James Nails (Shirley); and by 15 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his name to the Alzheimer’s Association.
