Pamala Wommack was born September 13, 1943 in Naples, Texas. She was the oldest twin. With her sister Paula, they were the last of 7 children, born to Halbert and Dorothy Wommack. Pam graduated in 1963 from Paul H. Pewitt High School in Naples, Texas.
She moved to Memphis TN. in 1970 and remained there until her passing.
Pam’s career was all encompassing and she did everything with love. Pam began teaching at Buntyn Presbyterian Preschool in 1972. Her passion for teaching extended to Sunday school at Buntyn Presbyterian Church where she was an active member and youth group leader for many years. Professionally, she went on to work for Brock, Gordon & Hust, CPAs as an administrator. She later became a financial planning administrator with the Jenkins Advisory firm. In 2017, Pam retired from Summit Asset Management.
The trifecta of her faith and work was completed by her family. She loved her sons, and attended every football game that they played. As a grandmother, she never missed birthdays, sports, recitals, and performances.
Pam is survived by her husband of 18 years, Bill Spencer. Their family was blended, Pam and Jack West had sons, Paul and Matt together, whom they adored. Pam is also survived by her grandsons Zac (Kelly) and Jack(Brittany); granddaughters, Abigail, Caroline, and Olive; stepson, Chris; step-grandchildren Baxley, Grace and Ava and Austin and Tyler; great grandchildren Calum, Dylan, and Blake; deeply loved by family friends Darin, Michelle and Violet Cole, Jennifer West and many loving nieces, nephews and extended family members. Pam’s sisters Dottie and Paula live in Texas, and she was preceded in death by her older brothers, Jack and James, and sisters, Patricia and Jeanette.
Pam let her light shine and drew many friends and family near. The loss of Pam’s physical presence leaves an unfillable void, but we have the most wonderful memories and her legacy lives on in those that loved her.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00am at Germantown Presbyterian Church, Friday October 18 2024 with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to LeBonheur Children’s Hospital.
