Mary Maxine Finch passed away on February 1, 2013. She was born in Russellville, Arkansas on July 9, 1924. The daughter of a Methodist minister, she is a Christian and was a faithful Methodist all of her life. She was an excellent basketball player in high school and a lifelong avid golfer. She had a great sense of humor and always shared her jokes with everyone she met. She met her husband of 70 years, Thomas Finch, and married him on September 9, 1942. They had two sons, John David, born on December 17, 1947 and Darryl Gene, born on April 26, 1954. She had one grandson, John David, Jr., and two granddaughters, Julia Ancira (Conrad), and Emily Williams (Mike). She had one step-grandson, Paul Walker, and one step-granddaughter, Allison Romero (Coby). Mrs. Finch follows to the Lord her father and mother, John and Willie Mae Newell, her sister and brother-in-law, Edna Mae and J. B. Roberts, her son John David, her grandson, John David, Jr., and her step-grandson, Paul Walker. She is survived by her husband, Thomas, her son Darryl (Linda), her half-sister, Jane Horton (Bill), her step-sister, Betty Lou Gardner, her niece, Marilyn Lecy, her grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren, Samantha and Annie Williams, Courtney and Abigail Broussard, Cameryn and Adrian Romero. The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 3, 2013 from 1 p.m. until service time at 2 p.m. at Memphis Funeral Home on Poplar Avenue. Burial will follow in Marked Tree Cemetery.
