On Sunday November 21, Ann Bell succumbed to a massive brain aneurysm suffered on Saturday evening the 20th. Ann was found unresponsive and never regained consciousness.
Born on February 10, 1955, daughter of Robert Wiley Dailey, Jr. and Mildred Ann Sumler Dailey; Ann was a 1973 graduate of Jackson Central Merry High School and attended Jackson State Community College.
Ann was a long-time member of the Memphis mortgage banking industry. She was not only loved by her clients and business partners; she was a top producer in the industry. Ann served as Sr. Loan Officer with Community Mortgage from 1989 to 2013; where she was recognized as the Most Valuable Loan Officer and presented #1Top Producer Award 2012. Her career moved to BancorpSouth in 2013 through 2014, where she received recognition as the Newcomer of the Year for BancorpSouth 2013 and achieved President Club status 2013 and 2014. In January 2015, Ann joined Mortgage Investors Group. During her almost seven years at MIG, Ann received the Presidents Club Award for top producers four of those years -2017, 2018, 2020, and 2021.
Ann was very active in the Memphis Area Association of Realtors. In 2021 she was finishing her 3-year term on the MAAR Education Foundation Trustees Board. Ann also served as the Scholarship Chair this year and served as the Course Monitor chair in 2020. She also previously served two terms on the Benevolent Fund Fundraising team. Ann served as President of the Memphis Mortgage Bankers Association in 2017. Under her leadership the Memphis Chapter received Local Chapter of the Year Award from the Tennessee MBA.
Ann was preceded in death by her parents Robert Wiley Dailey, Jr. and Mildred Ann Sumler Dailey, and twin daughters. She is survived by two brothers, Robert (Cindy) Dailey III of Villa Rica, GA, and Andrew (Beth) Dailey of Huntersville, NC; one niece Brook Hanks of Knoxville, TN, and four nephews Drew (Kelly) Dailey of Cumming, GA, Adam (Heather) Dailey of Harrisburg, NC, Ryan (Laura) Dailey of Knoxville, TN and Bert (Abbi Bjork, fiancé) Dailey of Huntersville, NC and six great nephews Deacon and Jack Hanks, Thomas and Knox Dailey and Elijah and Finn Dailey and aunt, Janice Sumler.
Ann’s love of family, cherished friendships, admiration of mortgage and real estate professionals and respect for all, was always evident. Her vibrant personality, infectious smile and unforgettable laugh will be cherished and greatly missed. Even in death, Ann continues her love for others by giving life to unknown others through organ donation.
A Celebration of Life for Lora Ann Bell is scheduled for Saturday January 15, 2022, with visitation at 9:00am and the service at 10:00am. The service will be conducted by family and friends at Memphis Funeral Home, 5599 Poplar Avenue, Memphis, TN. Interment will be at Ridgecrest Cemetery, Jackson, TN in a private family ceremony.
The family would like to thank the caring health professionals at Baptist East Hospital; her close friends Robin Reviere and Greg Renfrow for their stand along-side Ann, aiding the family on the evening of November 20th, and Todd Brown and Ann’s many MIG team members; who are more than associates they are Ann’s work family. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Memphis Area Association of Realtors Benevolent Fund or a charity of your choice would honor Ann’s legacy of giving to others.
