Linda B. Wilkinson

Linda B. Wilkinson, of Memphis, TN, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, October 16, 2014. She was born in Memphis, TN, and graduated from the University of Memphis with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education with an additional endorsement in Birth through Third Grade. She also did graduate work at Cumberland University. She dedicated her life to educating future generations, notably teaching at Briarcrest Christian Schools for 27 years until her retirement in June, 2014. She held membership in the Christian Educators Association International. She was a member of Bellevue Baptist Church where she was active in Bible Fellowship and New Members Ministry. Linda is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Helen Bruner. She is survived by her loving husband of almost 46 years, James M. Wilkinson, Sr., son, Mike Wilkinson (Laura), daughter, Michelle Fye (Shawn), and granddaughters, Emma and Ella Fye. She also leaves behind many friends who loved her dearly and other family including her brother, Dan Bruner. The family will receive friends and relatives on Sunday, October 19 from 5-8 p.m. at Memphis Funeral Home, 5599 Poplar Ave. The funeral will be held on Monday at 1 p.m. with an hour of visitation prior at Bellevue Baptist Church in the Pollard Chapel. The burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Love Worth Finding Ministries, Mid-America Seminary, or to the Briarcrest Christian School Annual Fund.
