Linda Ruth Thornton

Linda Ruth Arendall Thornton of Memphis, TN, passed away on December 5, 2017 after a courageous fight with cancer. She was born on July 18, 1943 to Paul and Ruth Arendall in Henderson, TN. Linda began her career at PMT Transportation. She spent 23 years in FedEx Collections before retiring to care for her father. She was a loyal friend, faithful employee, loving mom, spouse and most of all, our Ammie.

She leaves behind her husband, Howard Thornton; a son, Jim West (Andrea); and grandchildren Paul, Matthew, Megan, Nathan(Rachel), Haley and Lauren West. She also leaves some cousins and long-time friends who were like sisters, travel buddies who shared her adventures, and her faithful dog, Lady, a true companion during her illness.

In addition to her parents, Linda was preceeded in death by her son, David West, and her brother and sister-in-law, James and Diane Arendall.

The family invites friends to celebrate Linda's life on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at Family Funeral Care on Summer. Visitation is from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m., with services immediately to follow. Burial will be in Henderson, Tennessee at 1 p.m.
