Linda Jo Grear Hale passed away January 1, 2023, at her home in Bull Shoals, Arkansas after a few months of illness. She was 79 years old and had lived in Bull Shoals for 3 years after moving from Bartlett, Tennessee. Linda was born in Memphis, TN where she attended Kingsbury and Overton High schools. She married George Hale after graduating and resided in Memphis for many years. The family moved to Naperville, Illinois and lived there for 21 years before moving back to Bartlett. Linda and George celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in June of 2022. The family had vacationed in Bull Shoals for their entire married life and dreamed of the time when they could retire there.
In addition to her husband George, Linda leaves her brother, Wayne Grear; two children, Jeff (Sian) Hale, and Jenny (Jim) Kuchenbecker; seven grandchildren - Josh (Kyrstin), Emmie (Joe), Shelby (Curtis), Lucas (Abbie), Brad (Katherine), Anthony, and Natalie; seven great children, Landon, Beckham, Summer, Tucker, Scarlett, Charlie James, and Jack Harvey. In addition to her immediate family, there are in-laws, nieces and nephews, and cousins too numerous to mention.
Linda loved being with her family more than anything else in life. She made her home the gathering house and all who knew her loved her.
Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to Saint Jude Children’s Hospital, or Hospice of the Ozarks.
A graveside service for Linda will be held on Friday, January 6, 2023 at 10:30 AM at Memphis Memory Gardens, 6444 Raleigh Lagrange Road, Memphis, TN 38134. Following the graveside service, there will be a reception until 2:00 PM at Memphis Funeral Home, 5599 Poplar Ave, Memphis, Tennessee 38119.
