Helen Anna Powell Wallace, age 98, of Memphis, Tennessee, passed away on Wednesday, November 8, 2023. She was born on September 16, 1925 in Chalybeate, Mississippi to Zenipher Powell and Emma Galster Powell.
She was a longtime member of Bellevue Baptist Church. She was very found of gardening. She enjoyed her community at Bellevue Woods.
Helen is survived by her daughter, Patricia Brooks (B. G. Brooks) and grandchildren, Brian Brooks, Kelley Brooks Glover, and David Whitmore; and two grandchildren, Addison Brooks and Taylor Glover. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Michael Wallace and two children, Jane Whitmore and Michael Wallace. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Roy Powell, W. C. Jamison, C. D. Powell, and Peggy Powell Jamison.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 21 from 10:00 AM until the funeral service at 11:00 AM, at Memphis Funeral Home, 5599 Poplar Avenue, Memphis, TN 38119. Graveside committal services will occur at 1:30 PM, at Union Cemetery, Chalybeate, MS.
