Brian Christopher Lawler, 46, passed away July 29, 2018 in Memphis, TN. He made his first appearance in 1984 with his dad Jerry "The King" Lawler in Wimp Busters video. Brian started his professional wrestling career in 1989 shortly after playing football at Craigmont High School. He was a huge Pittsburgh Steelers fan as well as a wrestling fan. In the early 90's he formed the tag team of New Kids with Tony Williams and later became the bad guy. By 1992 he pushed to win USWA, Texas and Southern Heavyweight titles. During this time Brian was also involved with Eddie Gilbert Memphis Mafia. Between 1993-1996 he started a series of matches wrestling with his dad and began having semi and main event matches in Memphis. In 1997 he entered into the WWE Light Heavy Weight division and by 1999 he joined Scotty 2 Hotty and they went on to win the WWE Tag Team Title beating Edge and Christian. Brian Christopher became a household name in Memphis as well as worldwide. Brian is survived by his son, Blake Lawler of Memphis; brother, Kevin Lawler of Memphis; mother, Martha Kay Williams of Middleton and father, Jerry "The King" Lawler. The family will receive friends Friday, August 3rd from 12-2pm with the service to follow at 2pm at Hope Church 8500 Walnut Grove Rd Cordova, TN 38018. The burial will take place at Memorial Gardens 3700 N Germantown Pkwy Bartlett, TN 38133.
