Barbara Jean Taylor

BARBARA JEAN PHILLIPS TAYLOR, 84, passed away Monday, August 10, 2015. She loved watching birds out her window and loved cats especially her special cat Smokey. Television was a big source of entertainment for her and she was the Captain of the remote. Her dad was an over the road driver and her mother died when Barb was 6 months old, the youngest of seven children. They were passed from family to family to live until the oldest sister, Margaret, graduated from school and took the two youngest girls to live with her in Helena, AR. Mrs. Taylor was preceded in death by her parents, Jessie Oliver and Odie Louise Perry Phillips, one daughter, Vanessa Jean Taylor, three brothers, William Oliver, Francis Lee "Pete", Jessie Oliver "Sonny", and two sisters, Margaret and Elva Mae. She is survived by two sons, Kenneth Hugh Taylor of Ashland, MS and Steven Wayne Taylor of Memphis; two daughters, Brenda Joyce Aubuchon and Lori Anne Sondermann, both of Memphis; two adopted daughters, Elizabeth L. Gantner and Tammy Davis; one sister, Louise Bradley; six grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. Family will receive guests Saturday, August 15th at Family Funeral Care, 4925 Summer Ave. Memphis, TN from 12:30 pm till the service begins at 2 pm.
