John was born in Filer, ID to Charles and Ruth (Green) Logston. His family moved from ID to OR where he became a 1956 Alumni of Ashland High School. He joined the Navy Reserve and served time on the USS Essex. Upon return, he married Colleen Creel in 1959 and together they raised a family in Medford, OR before moving to Lost Creek Ranch in Prospect, OR. During that time, John and his very good friend, Wayne Christian started their company John-Wayne Construction in 1973 and were highly successful in the Rogue Valley. John married his second wife, Jeannette in 1993 and they formed JTL Construction and raised his second family on the ranch. They shared 31 wonderful years together and moved more recently to their home in Eagle Point.
John was a strong Christian and lived his life sharing his faith and beliefs with others. He raised his children, John Thomas Logston Jr. (Tom) and Julie Logston in the Central Point Church of Christ where he and wife Colleen were youth leaders for 20 years. He was an elder, attended men's groups and bible studies. In later years he was also active at Cascade Gorge Christian Church, where his wife, Jeannette and children, Laura, Mark and Sarah Harmon would also attend. For over the last thirty years John and Jeannette have attended Trail Christian Fellowship. He did much in the valley to help with church growth and was active in any way he could to help promote the gospel.
John loved being in nature, riding horses, camping, fishing, hunting, traveling, working on his ranch and property. He loved hosting family and class reunions, church gatherings, weddings and visitors at Lost Creek Ranch. His greatest joy was knowing that he was able to mentor others, to teach them how to ranch, work, fish and hunt. How to live. How to be Christ-like. To know that he was able to help raise his grandchildren and teach them so much was one of his greatest accomplishments.
We want to thank everyone who loved him as we did, who valued him, who enjoyed his sense of humor. Thank you to Signature Hospice for the few days you gave him great comfort and for his lovely Doctor Nelson who cared for him for over 30 years.
He is survived by his wife, Jeannette (Pless) Harmon Logston; his children John Thomas (Patty) Logston, Jr and Julie (Curt Price) Logston, Laura (Travis) Crume, Mark (Ingrid Passier) Harmon, Sarah Harmon. His grandchildren; Conner Smith, Sean (Mia) Smith, Logan Crume and Sabrina Crume. He is also survived by his brother, Steve (Connie) Logston and sister-in-law, Darla Logston.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Charles Albert Logston and Katherine Ruth (Green) Logston; siblings Joyce & Carol Logston, Adabel (Roy) Adamson, June (Jim) Worley, Jack (Sharon) Logston, Bill Logston, Louis (Frankie) Logston and many much-loved extended family.

We invite you to share in stories, reflection, and celebrating his profound influence and the lasting memories we hold, with refreshments to follow.
