Stanley Joe Thompson, 74, of McGregor, Texas passed away on Thursday, August 19, 2021. A memorial service will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 28, 2021 at College Avenue Baptist Church in McGregor, Texas officiated by Pastor Philip Riegel.
Joe was born on January 18, 1947 to Henry Thompson and Ruth (Cox) Thompson in Georgetown, Kentucky. He was the oldest child of eight. Joe married Cheryl Harcrow on November 13, 1981 in Houston Texas. They were married for 38 years, until Cheryl passed away in November of 2019. Joe is remembered as a great husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many. He would always be there anytime anyone needed anything. He lived for his grandchildren and was very proud of them.
Joe Thompson is survived by his son Joshua Thompson and wife, Brandy; daughter, Nicole Peterson and husband, Brent; three beautiful grandchildren, Ethan Peterson, Khloe Peterson, and Kallen Parrott.
