Dorothy Lee (Nelson) Patterson Plemons

Dorothy Lee (Nelson) Plemons of Ocee near Crawford, passed away Wednesday night, May 18, 2011, at the age of 87. Graveside services and interment will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday, May 21, 2011, at Crawford Cemetery under the direction of Cole Funeral Home, 1113 West Fifth Street, McGregor with Chad Lewis and Dr. Brian Pendleton officiating. While there will not be any formal visitation; respects may be paid between noon and 9 P.M. Friday at Cole Funeral Home.

Dorothy was born January 2, 1924, in Mart, Texas, the daughter of A.F. “Skinny” and Ethel (Freeman) Patterson. Dort married Donald Earl Nelson May 19, 1941. After twenty-three years of marriage he preceded her in death May 5, 1965. She later married Dwight Plemons July 16, 1969. PaPa Dwight, as he was referred to, preceded her in death May 9, 2005, after thirty-five years of marriage.

Also preceding her in death was a brother, Jack Clint Patterson of Dallas and a sister Louise Eskew of Mart.

Survivors include two sons, Billy Pat Nelson and wife Jane and Donald Keith Nelson and wife Sharon all of Crawford; four granddaughters and eleven great grandchildren.

The family expresses their appreciation to Dr. Encarnacion and the nurses at Texas Oncology and to Providence Hospice. Their love and appreciation goes to all the family and friends for their prayers, flowers and cards.
