Bobby Gene Burgess

Bobby Gene Burgess, 85, of Moody, Texas passed away on Saturday, May 22, 2021. A celebration of life will be 2:00 p.m. June 4, 2021 at Cole Funeral Home in McGregor, Texas, officiated by Reverend David Goddard. Interment will follow in Moody Cemetery.

Bobby was born on November 27, 1935 to J.B. Burgess and Anna Lee (Biddy) Burgess in Coryell County. He was a member of the American Legion in McGregor, Texas, the Masonic Lodge in Moody, Texas, and the Iron Workers Union in Fort Worth, Texas. Bobby enjoyed spending time with his family, watching his game chickens, and talking with his friends.

Preceding Bobby in death is wife, Beverly Jean (Stonehouse) Burgess; granddaughter, Brigette Brown Hughes; parents; and four brothers.

Survivors include daughters, Linda Dyess and husband, Allan, of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, Michelle Guerra and husband, Mike, of Moody, Texas, Susie Shugart and husband, Scott, of Moody, Texas; nine grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.

Bobby will be greatly missed by the many who loved him.
