Robert Timothy "Tim" Wilson

Robert Timothy "Tim" Wilson, age 69, of Locust Grove, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, November 16, 2022. Tim was born November 15, 1953 in Atlanta, Georgia to the late Roy and Marjorie Daniel Wilson. He was a graduate of Southwest DeKalb High School, Class of 1971 and received a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Emory University.

Tim began his career at the family business, Georgia Control Center, when he was a teenager working until his retirement as Vice President. Tim was a member of the McDonough First United Methodist Church and was recently attending Freedom Church. Over the years, Tim was a Sunday School teacher, Youth Leader, Children's Choir Director, UMM and choir member and vocalist for revivals, weddings and funerals. He was a Trustee at the Shingleroof Campground for 25 years.

Tim was a Boy Scout Leader for many years, an avid hunter, and recently a Ham Radio operator. His latest passion was Bobo's Bolos, where he created retail bolos and jewelry.

Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Cheryl Warren Wilson; son, Matthew (Amanda) Wilson; grandsons, Cameron and Jasper Wilson; brother, Bruce (Jennifer) Wilson; nephews and niece, Brian, Mark and Amanda Wilson, Travis Turner and Jesse Warren.

Funeral services will be held Monday, November 21, 2022 - 2:00 pm in the Haisten Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Chris Harris will officiate. Interment will follow at Berea Cemetery in Hampton. Friends may visit the family Monday one hour prior to the service. Contributions are asked to be made to Freedom Church, 70 Westridge Pkwy., McDonough, GA 30253 in memory of Tim.
