Josephine C Bevil

Mrs. Josephine Bevil of Locust Grove, Ga passed away December 17, 2018 at the age of 94. Mrs. Bevil was born in Jackson, Ga to the late Elmo and Jewell Colwell. She is also predeceased by her husband Ezra Bevil Jr. and siblings; Milton Colwell, Elmo Colwell,Jr., George Colwell, Marlin Colwell, Kathryn Colwell Cobb and Miriam Colwell McKibben.

Mrs. Bevil was born with a servant’s heart and enjoyed gardening, cooking, canning and flowers. She retired from the accounting department of Rich’s department store in downtown Atlanta.

Mrs. Bevil is survived by her children; Treva (Steve) Duffey and Bartow (Carol) Bevil as well as her siblings; Olin (Betty Rose) Colwell, Johnny (Martha) Colwell, Annette (Lloyd) Colwell Elder, Peggy Colwell Braswell, Polly (Bobby) Colwell Brown, Patsy (Terry) Colwell Avery and Charlotte Colwell.

“Big Mama” will also be dearly missed by her grandchildren; Patrick (Kristin) Bevil, Culley (Carissa) Bevil, Crystal (Mike) Duffey Mehio and Misti (Mikey) Duffey Boyd along with great grandchildren; Ayden, Paisley, Kira, Quinn, Xander, Jade, Reema, Arwa, Serene, Hoda and a host of nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Bevil’s family will receive friends and guests on Thursday December 20, 2018 from 4pm to 7pm at Haisten Funeral Home 1745 Zack Hinton Parkway, McDonough, Ga. Funeral services will be held on Friday December 21, 2018 at 11 am in the funeral home chapel with Pastor John Callahan officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Griffin, Ga.
