Joe B. Rowan, Jr.

Joe B. Rowan, Jr., age 86, of McDonough, Georgia passed away May 10, 2023. Joe was born April 2, 1937 in McDonough, Georgia to the late Joe B. Rowan, Sr. and Louise Cook Rowan. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Jeffares Rowan and a grandson, Jefferson Cooper Rowan. He served in the Air Force National Guard and was a graduate of the University of Georgia, where he was a member of the Judging Team. Joe was a member of the Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church and the Methodist Men. He was a self employed land surveyor for 41 years and was a lifetime member of the Surveyor's and Mapping Committee. Joe was an avid golfer, horseman and enjoyed roping cows. Survivors include his son and daughter in law, Jeff and Kay Rowan; grandchildren, Cal Rowan, Julianna Rowan and J.C. Rowan. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 16, 2023 - 2:00 pm in the Haisten Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church Cemetery. Friends may visit the family Monday from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
