Jean Elizabeth Marchant

Jean Elizabeth Marchant, age 70, of McDonough, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, October 8, 2023. She was born on December 20, 1952, in Somerville, MA, to the late Joseph and Louise Tartaglia. Jean was also preceded in death by her sister, Dianne O'Connor. Jean was a talented artist who had a deep love for painting, gardening, and traveling. She found joy in the simple pleasures of collecting seashells at the beach, creating various crafts, and crocheting. However, her greatest passion was loving and spoiling her six grandchildren. Mrs. Marchant is survived by her husband, Walter, and their children: Jacqueline (James) Boshears of Covington, Walter J. Marchant (fiance’ Krystal Capes) of Monticello, and Michelle (Justin) Collins of Peachtree City. She was a proud grandmother to Owen Marchant, Abigale Marchant, Ethan Collins, Walter Marchant V, Benjamin Collins, and Emma Lee Collins. She is also survived by her siblings, Joseph (Donna) Tartaglia and Michael Tartaglia of Massachusetts, along with several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 - 7:00pm on Monday, October 16, 2023 at Haisten Funeral Home in McDonough. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday at St. James the Apostle Catholic Church in McDonough. Interment will follow at Eastlawn Memorial Park.
