David Thomson, age 75, of Locust Grove, Georgia passed away on Thursday, March 28, 2024. He was born in Atlanta, Georgia on October 1, 1948 to James Alexander Thomson, Jr. and Eula Mae Thomson, and followed them in death. He was proud of his Scottish heritage, having his father immigrate to America from Scotland prior to David's birth. He was a jack-of-all-trades kind of guy who wanted to make use of his skills to help anyone in need. He was a proud U.S. Navy Veteran and served during Vietnam. David loved riding his Harley, and took some remarkable trips, such as his trips to Alaska, California, Maine, Death Valley, the Grand Canyon, Daytona and Sturgis. He also thoroughly enjoyed visiting his friends along his bike rides. He was a truck driver for 31 years, retiring from Air Products and Chemicals in the year of 2015. He kept the family farm going as long as he was able. He was an active member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), the American Legion Riders, the American Legion Post 77 in Conyers, and the Senior Center in Locust Grove. Mr. Thomson is survived by his wife of 46 years, Teresa, his children Shannan (Jeremy) Davis, Scott (Jennifer) Thomson and Jimmy (Kristen) Thomson, grandsons, Dalton and Luca Thomson and his sister Eulene (Steve) Evans all of Locust Grove, Georgia. Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at Philippi Baptist Church in Locust Grove, Georgia. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
