Mrs. Virginia Camp Smith, age 92 passed away on April 11, 2024. Mrs. Smith was born and reared in West End Atlanta, the only daughter of the late Ethel Irene Culver Camp and Larkin Andrew Camp Sr. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Wiley Camp. She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 plus years, Morris Glynn Smith. She was a member of Liberty Hill Baptist Church in Hampton, GA. Mrs. Smith was a Homemaker par excellence and in home babysitter for single mothers and working parents for many years. She loved music especially old hymns and southern gospel songs. In her younger years at Adair Park Baptist and Antioch Baptist Church she was often called upon to sing solos with her very high soprano voice. She also took piano lessons and often played songs for her own enjoyment on the piano that her parents purchased for her as a teenager. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, traveling with her late husband who worked in Printing Ink Sales, listening to gospel music, shopping, crocheting and supervising the care of Mac, the cat and other beloved deceased animals. Survivors include children: Shirley Cramer (Rev. Allen Cramer) of Griffin, Pastor Dennis Glynn Smith (Debra) of Clermont, FL, Jenny Upole (David) of Griffin, Sherry Smith of McDonough, 7 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and countless other “adopted” grands, greats, and great-greats. The family will receive friends at Haisten Funeral Home in McDonough on Sunday, April 14th 2024 from 12:30p to 1:30p with the funeral beginning in the chapel at 1:30p. Burial will follow the service at Eastlawn Memorial Park with her son, Pastor Dennis Smith Officiating.
