Elva Ann Allison

Elva Ann Goode Allison, age 92, passed away on November 3, 2024 at Brightmoor Hospice in Griffin, Georgia. She was born in Franklin County, Virginia on January 14, 1932, to the late Kyle Goode and Elsie Murdie (Brammer) Goode. Ann graduated from Ferrum High School and Radford College, with a teaching degree in English and Social Studies and later earned her Masters Degree in Library Science from Radford. Ann began her 40 year career in education in the Henrico County, Virginia school system and retired in 1994 from the Burlington, North Carolina school system. Ann married Robert Dale Allison in 1955, and they enjoyed 68 years of marriage together. They were active members of Grove Park Baptist Church in Burlington, North Carolina for 43 years, where they had many lifelong friends. Ann enjoyed playing the piano and organ at church, and other local organizations. Ann was an excellent homemaker, an avid reader and corresponded with family and friends with her beautifully written cards and letters. Ann was predeceased by her husband, Robert “Bob” Allison, her parents, and siblings Mary Ingram, Carlton Goode, Kyle E. Goode and Barbara Stoner. She is survived by her daughter Dale (Rick) Stadler of Panama City, Florida, son David (Suzanne) Allison of Jackson, Georgia, grandchildren Tiffany (Ray), Forrester of Panama City, Florida, Michael (Pat), Stadler of Oakland, California, John “Jack” (Emily) Allison of Decatur, Georgia and Brian Allison of Atlanta, Georgia, great-grandchildren Nora Forrester, Charlotte Forrester, Walker Forrester and Lochlan Forrester, and numerous nieces and nephews and cousins. A private memorial will be held in Rocky Mount, Virginia.
