Mr. Donald Richard Gibson, age 76, of Locust Grove, Ga passed away September 30, 2014. Don was born in Marietta, GA the son of the late Huey Dorsey and Hazel Conn Gibson. He was also preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his children, Delia Gibson, a brother, Sonny and a sister Mary. Don enjoyed spending time with family and friends, dancing, racing, fishing, baseball, gospel music and traveling. Survivors are his wife, Lynda Savage Gibson of Locust Grove; children, Yvonne Welsch (John) of Jonesboro, Rick Gibson (Renie) of Molena, Rena Robinson (Richard) of Cookeville, TN and Sandy Campbell (James) of Locust Grove; 4 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren; siblings, June Reece of Dallas, Brenda Johnston of Dallas, and Bea Green of Bremen, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service for Don will be Thursday, October 2, 2014 – 1:00 PM in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home with Chaplain Jim Weathers officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Memorial Gardens.
