Jackie Mercer was born August 26, 1947. He attended Henry County High School, the University of Georgia, and served in the Georgia National Guard. In 1975, he joined the family business at Mercer Truck and Tractor until retiring in 2009.
He is proceeded in death by father James Claire Mercer Sr, mother Judy Mercer, and brother Jimmy Mercer. He leaves behind wife Beverly Mercer, sons Chase Mercer and Clay Mercer, grandchildren Nathan Mercer, Jackson Mercer, and Grace Mercer, nephew Jay Mercer and niece Ellen Foster.
He enjoyed golfing and time spent with friends on the golf course. He relished his time spent working in his barn or around the house and could often be found working on his tractor. He was an anchor for his family and he will be greatly missed.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 20 at 2:00pm at Shingle Roof Campground Tabernacle. McDonough, Ga 30253.
