Carolyn White Barker

Mrs. Carolyn White Barker, age 81 of Locust Grove, Georgia passed away January 20, 2018. She was born in Augusta, Georgia to the late Claude Poole and Lynette Mars White. She was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara White Wood and a niece, Carrie White Dunn. Carolyn worked in banking for 40 years and was a member of Pinecrest Baptist Church. She loved to spend time with her family and was an avid reader. She traveled the world with her husband and was known for her sense of humor. Survivors include her siblings, Christine (Cecil) Turner of Locust Grove, Phil (Brenda) White of Fayetteville and Cindy (Sidney) Funk of Fayetteville; step-sons, Brian (Jan) Barker of Andover, MA and Eric (Lucia) Barker of Marietta; step-grandchildren, Emily Barker of NYC, Matt Barker of Boston, Max Barker of Marietta and Nolan Barker of Marietta; nieces and nephews, Chris Turner of Atlanta, Shan Funk of Columbus, Derrick White of Senoia, Shea Funk of Smyrna and Lindsey Beard of Fayetteville; numerous great nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 23, 2018 – 11:00 AM in the Haisten Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Fairview Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit the family Tuesday one hour prior to the service. Contributions are asked to be made to the American Cancer Society or St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital in memory of Carolyn.
