

Bobby Carroll Coward, 86, entered his eternal home on Monday, December 1, 2021, at his place of residence, Estella House, in Hampton, GA. Bob was born on April 24, 1935 in Candler, NC to Wilburn Noland Coward and Myrtle Cordelia Hutchinson. After high school, Bob served in the US Air Force. He and Nancy (Lytle) married on August 21, 1956. Upon completion of his military service, Bob and Nancy moved to Miami, Florida where Bob began his career at Delta Air Lines. His work at Delta moved them to the Atlanta area where he and Nancy settled in and raised their family. While at Delta, he also received an Associate in Arts Degree from Clayton State University. Bob worked for Delta Airlines for 34 years and took great pride in his work and time in the airline industry. In addition to working for Delta, Bob was an active member of Eagle’s Landing Church of God in McDonough, GA where he and Nancy attended for many decades. Bob loved God and his family. He demonstrated the value of hard work and the importance of knowing God and trusting Him in all things. Bob lived life to the fullest and enjoyed the simple treasures of family, friends, and riding his tractor. His greatest blessings in life were being a husband, father, and Poppa to his granddaughters. Bob is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by Nancy Sue (Lytle), his wife of 65 years. Bob is survived by his son Jeffrey (Rachel) Coward of Southlake, TX, and daughters Julie (Timothy) Harkins of McDonough, GA, and Jennifer Coward of McDonough, GA. He remains always and forever, Poppa, to his four granddaughters: Lauren Harkins, Jordan Harkins, Chandler Coward, and Reagan Coward. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 11, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at Haisten Funeral Home, 1745 Zack Hinton Parkway, McDonough, GA. The family will receive family and friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. A private graveside service will be held Saturday following the service at East Lawn Memorial Park.
