Mrs. Barbara Whelchel Woodall, age 78, of Locust Grove, Georgia passed away on May 21, 2015. Mrs. Woodall was born in Atlanta, Georgia the daughter of the late Amyle Hope and Samuel E. Whelchel. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Phillip Whelchel. Mrs. Woodall enjoyed spending time with family and friends, traveling, playing the piano and the old gospel hymns. She was known by everyone as a very religious, gentle, loving woman who made time for everyone and always put others first. Survivors are her loving husbands of 52 years, Hershell Woodall of Locust Grove; brothers, Paul Whelchel of Houston and Tommy Whelchel of Lawrenceville; several nieces and nephews. Funeral service for Mrs. Woodall will be on Sunday, May 24, 2015 – 2:00 PM in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home with Rev. W. Irvin Pearre and Pastor Dave Riley officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Floral Hills Cemetery in Tucker, GA at 4:00 PM.
