Mary F. Fryman Smith

Mary Lucille Smith Passed away peacefully, March 2, 2014 at her son’s home in Lexington. She was born in Robertson County on November 4, 1923 to the late Bruce and Matilda Jane Shepherd Fryman. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clark Porter Smith, Sr. who died October 14th, 1988. She is survived by a son Clark Smith Jr. of Lexington, and a daughter Jennie Lou Smith of Union, Ky. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents she was preceded in death by her brothers Kelly, Walter, Kenneth and Horace Fryman. Mary graduated from May’s Lick High School in 1942 and attended Eastern Kentucky University. She was a long time member of Trinity United Methodist Church and also was a secretary for Trinity United Methodist Church. In her early years, she also worked at Browning Manufacturing. She love to cook and also enjoyed antiquing and golfing. She had a passion for University of Kentucky basketball and has attended many games. Funeral services for Mary Lucille Smith will be Thursday, March 6 at 1 P.M. at Knox and Brothers Funeral Home with Rev. Eric Patterson and Dr. E. Ray Throckmorton officiating. Burial will follow in the Shannon Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 A.M. until the hour of service.
