Margaret G. Amoroso

MARGARET G. AMOROSO (nee Longo). The marvelous Marge Longo Amoroso, beloved mother of six, died peacefully on September 26 at the age of 94. Her smile was contagious and admired by all who knew and loved her over the decades. Marge met her handsome husband Sam Amoroso of Murray Hill on a blind date and they spent over 70 years dancing, laughing and cooking while creating a beautiful Italian family together. Marge will be dearly missed by her six children, Carmen (Janie), Susan Abruzzo (Dan), Michael (Rita), Sandy, Joseph (Susan) and John, her five grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Sam preceded her in death in January 2018. She is also the last of the Longo siblings (10) to pass. Throughout her active years Marge enjoyed spending time with her bowling league, her pinochle club and her ladies golf league. She was a devoted member of Holy Redeemer Church where she faithfully worshipped, spent quiet time in prayer, and also enjoyed volunteering into her 90’s, Marge had many joys and blessings during her long and mostly healthy life. Her grandchildren and over the last 18 years her great grandchildren were the source of much laughter and excitement. She took great pride in their accomplishments and she passed down her big smile to all of them! Marge was an avid fan of all Cleveland sports teams. She especially loved cheering on the Indians where she always had her favorite players and often “coached” them through her TV. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions may be made in Marge’s memory to Holy Redeemer Church 15712 Kipling Ave. Cleveland, 44110 where relatives and friends are invited to gather for the Mass of Christian Burial 11:30 AM Saturday October 3rd.
