Andre “Chris” Calhoun
Andre Calhoun was born June 29, 1952 to Walter and Dorothy Calhoun in Chattanooga Tennessee. He was the second oldest son of six children. He attended Cleveland Public schools. Andre was an athlete and enjoyed sports and participated in basketball and boxing. He loved to read and write poetry. He was laid back and easy going. Andre was also a caring father to Andre “Lavelle”. After meeting and courting Brenda F. Hardy, they were married in 1973. They had three children, Tanisha, Rasaun, and Victor from this union of more than 20 years. Andre went on to obtain a masters degree in psychology from the University of Pittsburgh. He was employed as a counselor and had a passion for those needing help with difficult problems. He wanted to make an impact for change in someone’s life. He loved writing and mentioned how one day he wanted to publish a book of his own. He also enjoyed watching his favorite crime series like CSI. Andre was a football fan and just loved watching the game. Andre professed the Lord Jesus Christ as his Savior later in his life. He was ready to meet the Lord and after many battles with his health, he entered eternal life on Monday November 11, 2024 at Hillcrest Hospital in Mayfield Hts. Ohio. His family and friends will miss Andre dearly. Preceding Andre in death; Brenda F. Hardy Calhoun, (son) Rasaun H. Calhoun I, (parents) Walter and Dorothy Calhoun. Siblings; Victor, Sherry, Peppi, Derrick, Walter, and Terri. Andre Calhoun leaves three surviving children, Tanisha, Victor, and Andre “ Lavelle”. His grandchildren, Aleah, David, Rasaun II, and Chandler. His surviving siblings, Ricardo, Charles, Patricia, Marcell, and a host of nieces, nephews and relatives and friends.
