Thelma Bailey

Age 77, died February 27, 2013 in Holt, Michigan. Thelma was born February 25, 1936 to Ethan and Ada Allen in Kentucky. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She loved children and enjoyed being a foster parent and child care provider for many years. Her love for her family was unwavering and she was a loving caregiver for her husband of 47 years, Arvel, after his stroke. She attended the Mason Baptist Church, Mason First Church of the Nazarene and Holt United Methodist Church. Thelma was preceded in death by her husband, Arvel, in 2001 and son, Gary, in 1974. She is survived by two sons, Michael (Rosemary) of Scottsdale, AZ, Edward of Seattle, WA; daughter, Jackie (John) Courter of Mason; four grandchildren, Brooke Bailey (Jason) Colvin of Sparks, NV, Brent Bailey of Los Angeles, CA, Justin and Jordan Courter of Mason; two great grandchildren, Blake and Hailey Colvin of Sparks, NV; brother, Jack Allen of Battle Creek, and sister Joyce Allen of Hillsdale. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 621 S. Jefferson, Mason, MI with the Rev. Dr. Glenn Wagner officiating. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 1 hour prior to the service.
