Suzanne E. (Thompson) Voss

Suzanne (Suzi) E. Voss passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on September 4th, 2023. Suzi was born on January 14, 1937, in Roscommon, Michigan, to Robert and Elizabeth Thompson. She married Edwin S. Voss and had four boys.

Suzi graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Science in Teaching and Physical Education. She taught high school in the city of St Joseph, Michigan, and various positions in the Lansing and Ingham Intermediate School Districts.

Suzi enjoyed family gatherings where music was played, and songs were sung. She was able to teach her granddaughters how to sew, crochet, and do other crafts. Suzi enjoyed watching her grandchildren grow and prosper through sports, crafting and other activities. Suzi was involved with her church and made many good friends throughout her life.

She is survived by her husband, Ed; her children: Tim (Nancy) Voss, Dan (Julia) Voss, Tom (Gina) Voss, Jim (Jean) Voss; her grandchildren: Addison Voss, Corwin Voss, Hale Voss, Zoe Voss, Mia Voss, Landon Voss and Amelia Voss; her sister, Sally (Donne) Wagner and nieces and nephews.

Suzi was preceded in death by her father and mother, Robert and Eizabeth Thompson; her brother Robert Thompson and her in-laws Stanley and Lenogene Voss.

A private family service was held on September 14th. Suzi will be missed by all her friends and family, and all the many lives she touched. Memorial contributions may be made in her honor to the Mason Area Historical Society at P.O. Box 44, Mason, MI 48854.
