Sandy Marie Perfitt, 71, of Mason, Michigan, passed away on December 29, 2023, in Lansing with her family by her side. She was born on December 20, 1952, in Lansing, Michigan, to her late parents Herbert H. Luce Sr. and Marjorie (Liechty) Luce.
Sandy was a fun-loving and outgoing person who brought joy to those around her. She had a bubbly personality and was always supportive of her loved ones. Her adventurous spirit led her to explore new experiences and create lasting memories.
In her early years, Sandy worked at the Ingham County Sheriff's Department and the Ingham County Prosecutor's office. Later, she transitioned into being a paraprofessional at Mason Public Schools, where she made a significant impact on countless students. Sandy's dedication and support touched the lives of many during her time at Mason Public Schools.
Outside of her career, Sandy had a variety of hobbies that brought her immense joy. She cherished spending time with her sons and their families, especially her beloved grandchildren. Attending her grandchildren's sporting events brought her great pride and happiness. Sandy also enjoyed camping at the Three Seasons Campground in Greenville, Michigan where she made many friends, visiting the casino, and solving daily crossword puzzles.
Sandy is survived by her loving spouse of 53 years, Daniel C. Perfitt of Mason, MI, her sons Nicolas (Kaylin) Perfitt of Mason, MI, and Zacary (Megan) Perfitt of Lowell, MI. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren Maree, Zaden, Myloh, Colton, and Easton Perfitt. Sandy is also survived by her siblings Herbert H. Luce Jr. of Holt, MI, Rick (Cindy) Luce of Mason, MI. She also cherished her close bond with her friend Pat Gaston of Pleasant Lake, MI. Additionally, she is survived by numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Sandy was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert H. Luce Sr. and Marjorie (Liechty) Luce, her brothers Randy Loveland and Joseph Luce, and her sister-in-law LuAnn Luce.
A celebration of Sandy's life will be held on Saturday January 6th with an hour visitation from 11 am to 12 noon, and her Celebration of Life will begin at 12 noon where family and friends can gather to honor her vibrant spirit and the impact she had on their lives. A luncheon will follow at Vevay Township Hall, 780 Eden Rd., Mason, MI
Sandy will be laid to rest at Maple Grove Cemetery in Mason, Michigan. A special thank you to the staff of McLaren Hospital 5th floor, Christina from Carelink, and her two daughter-in-laws, Kaylin and Megan for all of their support.
