Richard "Rick" D. Johnson

Rick was born in Lansing, MI to Richard and Arlene Johnson. He proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, receiving the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with 2 Stars, and the Vietnam Campaign Medal. He wed his wife, Kathryn Johnson (Brashares), on May 23, 1980 at Penway Church in Lansing. He then went on to receive an Associate’s Degree of Fine Art and Commercial Art which he used for many graphic arts design jobs he did throughout his life.

Rick is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years, Kathryn Johnson; daughter, Amy (Bob) Baird of Lebanon, TN; grandchildren, Anphony (Olivia) Frano of GA, Jim (Skylar) Baird of WV, Autumn Baird of TN, and Allison Baird of TN; great-grandchildren, Oliver, Zoey, Nicholas, and Dylan; brother, Dale (Dianne) Johnson; sister, Teresa (Jeffery) Sedgman; and special aunt, Dixie Shelton of Little Rock, AR. He is preceded in death by his brothers, Alan Johnson and Troy Johnson; and parents, Richard and Arlene Johnson.

A celebration of life for Rick will be held on Saturday, August 19, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the VFW Hall in Mason, 1243 Hull Rd., Mason, MI 48854.
